For my Final Project I have chosen to create an Alice In Wonderland theme after John Tenniel.
I have chosen ‘Chaos and Order’ as the theme of my window display. I will be creating a garment and a very chaotic scene.
In the next couples of weeks I will be coming up with ideas about my theme and what exactly I’ll be creating!
For my final project, I will be creating a window display to support my visual merchandising interests. My theme will be ‘chaos’, I will be creating a garment and keeping in mind the theme and background which will be really chaotic, vibrant, colourful and alive.
For the new brief we have to produce one promotional and packaging material for my chosen fashion brand and we need to create our own company’s label so i came up with this:
For my last project I have researched different types of stitching, views from above and different types of material.
Through out the project, I have learned new sewing techniques, how to use the sewing machine with different materials. After completing my bolero, I had Olivia modelling for me.
I have created lots of different samples to support my material and print chosen. Im really happy with the final outcome and the grade that I have achieved, If i had more time I would have probably done more research and some artist research.
This is my final design!!! finally done :)
This is the pattern that I will be stitching underneath my bolero, I was inspired by an image I took on the aeroplane on my way to spain.
This is the front view of my sample!
So here’s my final piece for this project, it’s still a work in process at the moment though, hopefully it’ll be complete by Friday. I’ve done this piece in oil paints on a calico canvas, 4ft by 2 and a half ft, using a cross hatch painting technique, I’m kind of happy with outcome so far, but i see that there’s much room for improvement, let’s hope the fine tuning goes well :)
On another note … APPLIED TO UNI NOW!! SCARRRY D:
Lucas me too!!! Im so scared :( good luck us :) <3
Sylvia Reitzema, one of my teachers during my first diploma course, I saw a glimpse of her work when i studied under her, but i’ve only recently seen the full extent of her talent.
Truly inspiring work here, I plan to attempt her style for an experiment for my from above project.
I highly recommend everyone checking out her work.
I’m really inspired by her work, its amazing I must say. I really like how she didn’t use any colours, i like that she used black charcoal, its really effective.
This is my first attempt to making my bolero, that one is just an sample, my original bolero has a pattern underneath it.
This is my first attempt creating the water reflection effect, I created this piece of material by stitching three different layers together and cutting through the first layer for the other two layers to appear!!!
That’s an example of what I’m going to be making in this project. The patterns of a reflection!!
Starting from today I will be posting my weekly plans throughout the months. I am an art student, currently in my second year (level 3 extended diploma) I’m specialising in fashion.
At the beginning of this year ( year 2), we started off with the first project which was about ‘urban sounds’, as I’m doing fashion, I had to create 5 different garment integrating urban sounds in them.
Now I have started on my second project, which is called ‘from above’, we are meant to come up with a garment which integrates texture ‘from above’.
I would like to study fashion management and merchandising at university, at the moment I’m still completing my UCAS application as we need to hand it in by the 15th of January.
